Established in 2013, Material Energy is a renewable fuel and energy-based consultancy with offices in NSW, ACT, QLD, and VIC. Our team of over 50 professionals is committed to transforming waste into renewable energy solutions. Material Energy exists to rehabilitate inactive waste and mining sites, restoring their natural ecological systems and transforming residual mine waste into viable energy.

Based in Australia, Material Energy has successfully completed projects in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand. Our expertise spans Structural, Waste Services, and Sustainability consulting, focusing on innovative engineering services for waste-to-energy conversion.

The Problem

Environmental problems left by legacy waste and mining sites are an ongoing liability inherited by communities, government and industry. Waste in landfills and mining causes significant environmental impacts on the land we use, the water we drink and the air we breathe. Once these sites cease their commercial operations, remaining onsite material in waste cells and in tailing dams continues to release pollution into the environment for up to 500 years as contaminants intensify and oxidise over time.
